Glass glue drying time is determined by the thickness of the applied adhesive. For example, a 12mm thick acidic glass glue may take 3-4 days to dry completely, but within 24 hours, the outer layer will have hardened. Glass glue can be used to bond glass, metal or most types of wood. At room temperature, it reaches a peel strength of 20 pounds per inch after 72 hours.

If you're using glass glue in an enclosed area, then the drying time will depend on how tightly sealed it is. In a completely sealed environment, it's possible that the adhesive will never fully dry. If you increase the temperature, this can soften the adhesive.

The gap between two metal surfaces should not exceed 25mm when bonding with metal and metal surfaces. After application and before use of bonded equipment, check for proper adhesion in all cases.

Acidic glass glues produce a vinegar smell during curing process which disappears once cured leaving no residual odor.

When applying glass glue to plastic or rubber surfaces first clean thoroughly removing any oil residue from these materials prior to application; sand rough surface (rubber) with fine grit paper followed by wiping down with acetone; apply acetone only according to safety guidelines for its use as solvent
